Sussex horror writer’s book creeps into Top 10

Pressbox (Press Release) - A creative writing tutor has brought ten years of horrific sleepless nights together for a frightening new collection of short stories.
Phil Buck has already amassed a cult following for his earlier novel Santa Santera and online series El Sepulturero. But expect even bigger frights and nightmares with his shattering new collection of 18 gripping short stories, Vision Thing Ultra.
Despite already having success with previous scary stories, Phil admits this could well be his final horror release.
He said: “Vision Thing Ultra is my last word in horror.
“It represents ten years of writing horror stories - a compilation of 18 tales both old and new about the dark world of monstrous things that are hidden beneath our own everyday existence, just out of sight, where humanity is powerless against irresistible, unstoppable supernatural forces.
“And there are no happy endings.”
Vision Thing Ultra has already entered the top ten of Amazon’s Horror charts.
Phil’s stunning stories, which include Jailhouse Ripper, Brimstone & the Blitz, Resurrection Joe, and Night in the Cell, are set in various countries such as Mexico, Australia, America and around Europe, as well as the UK.
The lecturer’s inspiration for horror and suspense is also global, as he lists many international writers among his favourites and has a longstanding fascination with Mexicana.
Phil, from West Sussex, who often teams up with celebrated American novelist Lee Wedlake, believes he has been destined to write from an early age.
He added: “I’m told my first story was written when I was just five years old.
“I wrote my first book at 16 over the Summer holidays from school before I went into sixth form - it was terrible.
“I seemed to always want to write, so my first inspirations were my parents.
“I also had two great English teachers at school who inspired and encouraged me as well.”
