Retired Bucks developer builds on writing success

A retired property developer from Buckinghamshire is quickly building a reputation as a must-read author following the successful release of his debut thriller.
Peter Denness has been behind some of the biggest building projects at home and abroad during a distinguished career. But the father-of-two from Chalfont-St-Giles has now shown that he can also develop a gripping plot with his debut novel, Trust Treachery and Retribution.
The fast-paced narrative follows the fortunes of an ambitious young English couple who relocate to New York to advance their careers.
Peter, whose favourite authors include Henri Charrière, John Grisham and Robert Louise Stevenson, said: “Trust Treachery and Retribution is about a hardworking couple who are lured to the United States with the promise of higher salaries and career prospects. They move to a trendy Manhattan apartment and quickly settle into an excellent work-life balance. But things are not quite what they seem, and pretty soon their lives take a dramatic turn for the worse.”
Peter’s debut novel takes readers from the comforts of the London suburbs to uptown Manhattan and onto the shady underbelly of the Mexican drugs cartels.
Well researched in detail and explosive in plot, Trust Treachery and Retribution is an accomplished first outing for the new author.

The English couple, Michael and Leticia, are unwittingly thrust into a murky world of serious crime, deceit and survival. Peter, who was inspired to write Trust Treachery and Retribution by some of his favourite films and novels, is already plotting a sequel.
