Pressbox (Press Release) - The fifth album of the Russian multi-instrumentalist Denis Krupin "Path to Light" has just been released.

Several famous musicians took part in the recording: Andrea Marcelli, Bob Mintser and Jerry Goodman.
This album was created for those who are looking for light and warmth, depth and contemplation in music.

Stylistically, this is airy jazz fusion with a slight touch of progressive rock.
On the one hand, there is a rather bright shade of nostalgia in this record, throwing the listener back in those bright times when Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays were inseparable. On the other hand, this is an absolutely self-sufficient and mature work, which reflects Denis Krupin’s own vision of music.

This album contains a whole kaleidoscope of human feelings. You just need to have time to follow them. Feelings, like the northern lights, shimmer from one color to another, appearing in different parts of the sky, sometimes completely unexpected.
Symphony and semitones, thoughtfulness and space are the main ingredients of this album.

Almost all the parts on this recording were played by Denis Krupin – these are guitars, keyboards and computer-programmed synthesizers.
Andrea Marcelli succinctly and softly emphasizes the main line of compositions with his percussion, sometimes introducing himself into ready-made drum parts.

Bob Mintzer appears on the recording only two times, in the compositions “An Hour Before Dawn” and “One Day Will Be True”, but how suddenly! It is as if the saxophone is not a metal instrument, but an artist’s brush. Just as suddenly, Bob leaves, brightening up the already rich palette of the album with his unique playing.

Jerry Goodman expressively and recognizably bites with his violin into the structure of the composition “Fast Light”, decorating it and adding his own unique touch to it.

Obviously, for each composition, the listener will form his own opinion. However, it is worth to separately mention the composition called “Twenty Seventh Of November”. It is dedicated to the memory of Lyle Mays, however, just like all the material on the album.
Perhaps, this record will not make a strong impression on lovers of long improvisations and technically virtuoso passages. But those who are looking for romance, vibes and feelings in music should definitely familiarize themselves with it.

The album leaves behind a long aftertaste and a lot of sensations: first of all, warmth and light, joy and hope.
