Added: (Wed Jul 25 2001)

Pressbox (Press Release) - A new art movement based in Scarborough North Yorkshire will be exhibiting New work at the central Library in Leeds from the 6th August to the 30th of August. The work has been produced by 5 artists who have created a movement called pixelism. This is a new term invented to describe the process of combining traditional fine art techniques with digital technology. This new term has generated interest from the Oxford English Dictionary who are interested in the term to describe what we are doing and could be the first "ism" of the new millennium.
Artist kane Cunningham said' we have had a reply from Nicholas Serota at the Tate Gallery who is interested in our work. We hope the Tate will exhibit Pixelist art work in the future, who knows how the movement will develop, we will know if the movement has been a success if in 50 years somebody is still talking about it.
You can see the work on the website at www.pixelism.org.
The wbsite is www.pixelism.org.
