Pressbox (Press Release) - Fighting the corner of persecuted women has already earned author Gary Warner a starring gig with pop-queen Madonna.
And now the 61-year-old from Lincolnshire is set for further plaudits after releasing his latest highly anticipated novel, That’s Where You’ll Find Her.
The former teaching assistant built up a loyal readership with his acclaimed The Witches of Marston Dornie series.
Earlier, his review of Madonna’s Girlie Show at the old Wembley Stadium was selected to be the report of the London leg of her tour in her Los Angeles based magazine Icon.
Gary has now returned from glamour concerts and witch hunts to modern Britain for his sixth novel – and yet again his psychological thriller features troubled women.
That’s Where You’ll Find Her has been met with a string of five-star reviews, as well as a place in Amazon’s top ten for women’s fiction.
Gary said: “Mattie Hayes lives her life with an ever-present darkness, but she has learnt to cope, with a little help from her only friend.
“Lucy, who came to her rescue in their school days, has been coming to her rescue ever since.
“But when, on one of her increasingly rarer visits, Lucy asks Mattie if she could stay with her for longer, Mattie’s instincts tell her that something is wrong.
“And then there are Mattie’s dreams - dreams that take her to a beautiful place, to a young woman called Sarah, and to a past that may hold answers to her darkness and the real reason behind her enduring friendship with Lucy.”
After growing up in Kent, Gary went on to work at Lloyds Bank for two decades before becoming a teaching assistant, helping students with learning difficulties through school and college.
He now devotes most of his time at home in the village of Middle Rasen to walking his dog and writing his novels.
Gary added: “Although I enjoyed creative writing at school, I didn’t begin to write seriously for a while after I’d left.
“I was then lucky enough to have a short story published in a magazine which was followed by my review of Madonna’s Girlie Show.
“Sometime after this, I had the idea for my first book, A Far Cry from Summer, but, after several abortive attempts and many rewrites, I finally got to do the story justice when I published it with PublishNation in 2013.

Since the release of That’s Where You’ll Find Her, it has been described by reviewers as ‘hard to put down’, ‘a fantastic book’ and ‘a unique and highly imaginative novel’.
Reviewer Lisa Filmer said: “A well written and enjoyable read”, and Diane from New Hampshire added “A delightful, unusual and satisfying book.”
