Pressbox (Press Release) - A highly-respected psychologist who has helped secure convictions against some of the country’s most dangerous sexual predators has turned his expertise to plot a remarkable new thriller.
Dr Billy Conn spent 40 years working with sexually abused children and their families in his native Ireland as well as his adopted home of Kent.
And he provided countless expert testimonies during high-profile court cases to bring down paedophile rings.
After retiring Dr Conn went on to write the highly acclaimed Sleepers of the Cave trilogy, based on his four decades of career experiences.
In a bid to mount a fresh assault on the action book charts, he has taken on a pen name – Kingsley Cross - to scribe an incredibly powerful new series.
Dr Conn explained: “After the Sleepers of the Cave trilogy I wanted to write a very different sort of novel, part mystery and part soliloquy on memory and aging”. This emerged as The Garden of Lost Remembering. He went on, “however, I also wanted to write in a very different style characterized by more action content and I opted to use the pen name Kingsley Cross.
“In this guise I produced the thriller And Nothing but the Night – and have now followed it up with At the Counting of the Dead.”
At the Counting of the Dead is another explosive thriller from the hand of Dr Conn.
Partly set in a small west coast Irish town, Marc Logadon faces his biggest challenge yet in preventing an attack that could wipe out most of London.
Dr Conn added: “Marc Logadon is a maverick who seems to trust no one apart from his own odd ball team of a one-armed female bomb disposal expert, an ex heavyweight boxer, an almost invisible undercover worker and a gifted transgender hacker known as the Arachnophile.
“No one said this latest case was going to be easy but if Logadon and CJ don’t succeed thousands will not be saying anything at all.”
Dr Conn was born, educated and trained as a psychologist in Ireland before moving to England to practise.
Under his own name he released To Kill One, By Tasnim Waters and The Zaqqum Tree as the Sleepers of the Cave trilogy and in addition the more contemplative, The Garden of Lost Remembering.
To fulfil his new writing persona Dr. Conn has even set up an email address, kingsley.cross@webmail.com.
And he was so overwhelmed by the reaction to And Nothing but the Night, he intends At the Counting of the Dead to be the second of a new series of books featuring protagonist Marc Logadon.
