Jazz Gala Night of the Year Hits The Festival Hall

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Londonís jazz night of the year takes the stage at the Royal Festival Hall on Saturday, 31 March, in a gala evening to benefit the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Jazz Parade 2001 will bring together a top-flight line-up of bill-toppers - the Stan Tracey Big Band, George Melly and John Chiltonís Feetwarmers, The Best of British Jazz with Elaine Delmar, the Pasadena Roof Orchestra, the Cotton Club Orchestra and the Julian Joseph Trio, with compere Sheila Tracy.
This is the third annual Jazz Parade concert produced and directed by Jack L Higgins, known to musicians the world over as Britainís foremost and longest-established jazz agent. His early career running clubs like the Bandbox in Leicester Square led in the 1950ís to co-partnership in the legendary Harold Davison agency, working closely with Ellington, Basie, Armstrong, Sinatra, Garland, Bennett and many more.
Later he brought many US jazz greats over for solo tours with British bands, including those of Humphrey Lyttleton, Alex Welsh and Terry Lightfoot, before going on to mastermind the international careers of George Melly and John Chiltonís Feetwarmers.
Jazz Parade 2001 starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are £40, £32, £22, £15 and £12.50 from the Royal Festival Hall box office.
