Pressbox (Press Release) - Originating directly from the Italian Chair District, “Make My Design” has come into being: the first network of Italian companies specialised in the manufacturing of components, semi-finished products and accessories for the wood and furniture sector, providing designers and planners with professional consultancy aimed at assessing their design projects. The 10 companies that make up the network operate in complementary sectors and have the know-how for which Made in Italy has always been world-renowned. They offer an initial free of charge technical assessment and remain at the disposal of any user wishing to continue developing and carrying out his or her project idea. In order to receive some initial feedback from these companies, you simply need to fill in the form on the website www.makemydesign.it/en and enclose your project.

The small and medium-sized enterprises of the Italian Chair District are supported by a know-how stretching over decades in the field of artisan manufacturing and represent the beating heart of the manufacturing sector of Northeast Italy. These companies have always been working in the production of furniture components, semi-finished products and accessories and now they have come into the spotlight through the creation of “Make My Design”, the first network in Italy offering a professional consultancy service for the execution of design projects.
Contorpress, Giada, Italcurvati, MM Tappezzeria, Mocchiutti, Quattroventi, S.T.E.I., Stacco, Woodcraft and Tiver, the 10 companies that make up the Make My Design network, can offer the expertise of Made in Italy production, each one in its field of specialization: wood drying, cutting, bending and sanding, CNC processes, metal working, upholstery, padding, painting and prototypes.
Like in a traditional production chain, this network can carry out any type of project in the wood and furniture field, and its service aims at providing an effective solution to all the problems that designers and planners often encounter during the development stage of their design idea.

The consultancy service includes an initial free of charge technical assessment that users can quickly request by filling in the form on the website www.makemydesign.it/en and enclosing their project in PDF format. The companies will evaluate the features of the project that fall within their areas of expertise and will send back some initial feedback. Supported by a serious and reliable network, any designer or planner interested in continuing to work on the analysis of their idea will be able to establish a direct contact with the companies and to develop the manufacturing process until the product is commissioned.

Make My Design’s spokesman, Carlo Piemonte, stated: “Through Make My Design, we want to provide a direct consultancy service from companies to the designers, planners and architects who want to design new furnishings. Thanks to our network’s broad range of skills, which goes from wood selection to choosing the finest finishes, we can be an important partner for those who want to come into direct contact with a wealth of know-how labelled Made in Italy.

The Make My Design network has chosen ASDI SEDIA (Agency for the Development of the Italian Chair District) as the managing body of the group in order to best promote the network’s projects in Italy and abroad. The first actions that have been carried out include, in the first instance, the creation of the website www.makemydesign.it/en, which represents a real web portal allowing interested parties not only to submit their project, but also to know in detail all the characteristics of the companies concerned.
