Herts writer thrills fans with explosive new book

A former barrister from Hertfordshire has returned with his special forces heroes to tackle another major threat to world security.
Nigel James has built up a loyal readership since hanging up his wig and picking up the pen.
His page-turner thrillers, which include The Marbella Project and The Corsican Project, have been met with strings of five-star reviews.
And his latest offering, The Ghost Project, has attracted similar praise since its recent release.
Nigel’s latest explosive novel has been described by critics as ‘an orgy of terrorism’, ‘fast moving’ and ‘this won’t disappoint’.
Although The Ghost Project again features ex-SAS protagonists Dan Green and Jimmy Johnson, fans of Nigel’s thrillers should be prepared for something a bit different.
He explained: “Dan and Jimmy had previously acted mainly abroad so I decided to write a book that was London based.
“I did not want another book chasing gangsters and endless shootouts, so this is very different.
“Dan and Jimmy do not appear for some time as it is really escort Kate's story for about the first 100 pages or so.
“Kate is a young woman drawn into a world she would never have envisaged for herself but who eventually finds redemption.
“I hope Dan and Jimmy fans are not disappointed, but they do take centre stage in the second half of the book.”
Nigel’s passion for fast-paced thrillers began as escapist reading from the pressures of high-profile legal cases.
After spending 10 years perfecting his own first novel, Deep Secret, while still working as a QC, the words have literally flowed from Nigel’s hand since retirement.
In his latest novel, a terrorist wages a bombing campaign on the streets of the UK – leading to streets becoming even quieter than during lockdown.
Nigel added: “The security services are struggling to catch the terrorist, known as The Ghost, but the murder of a high-class escort provides them with a clue.
“They recruit Dan Green and Jimmy Johnson as well as a friend of the dead girl to take part in an off-the-books operation to catch him.
“The three of them are led into the seedy world of parties for celebrities and call girls, and they enter into a race against time to catch The Ghost before he launches one final spectacular attack.”
Away from writing, Nigel is a sports fanatic and enjoys following his beloved West Ham and the England cricket team, as well as trying to improve his erratic golfing skills.
