About Shaolin Team UK:
Shaolin Team UK performs the martial art form ‘Shaolin’, which is an ancient 1500yr old form of Kung-fu involving channelled Buddhism (Zen). Buddhist monks practise it and are the ultimate masters of this form of Kung-fu. All members have shaved heads which represent the philosophy of the art form; the hair is seen as a cover which stops energy being let out. Moves in their routine consist of breaking iron bars (achieved through breathing and meditation), 2 finger handstands and many more.
At the start of the year 2010, Matthew Ahmet the founder and creater of Shaolin Team UK decided he would take the group on a huge tour. The group were first showcased in a short snippet of Britain’s Got Talent final audition show and promising a ‘jaw dropping’ performance. This was the start of their success as Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holdon found it very exiting and three judges including Simon Cowell were impressed. They returned to the stage as Semi-Finalist contestants. Unfortunately they did not make it through to the final show however Shaolin Team UK are now very popular as the public talks about their semi final performance at the Britain's Got Talent competition on Thursday 3rd June 2010.
