Bollywood celebrities who opened on their battle against cancer-Daily bollywood dose

Writer- director Tahira Kashyap has been open about her breast cancer on social media and has always inspired her followers to followers to fight against any obstacles they face in life. Tahira was diagnosed with stage 0 breast cancer for which she underwent mastectomy. But a few months late in November she took to Instagram to reveal that her cancer had returned and it was at stage 1. The news did not hamper her spirits. She has been sharing her photos regularly on Instagram since then, keeping her followers updated about her health. Cancer has not been able to stop her from living her life and her husband, actor Ayushman Khurrana has always been seen supporting her and being by her side.
Sonali Bendre
The news of ‘high grade cancer’ was revealed by the actress on Instagram in July 2018. She underwent a treatment in New York and regularly shared her journey through the treatment. Her posts are as empowering as they could get. She wrote “I’m taking this battle head on, knowing I have the strength of my family and friends behind me”. Friends from the industry came out in her support. Sonali is recovering after her treatment.
Irrfan Khan
Irrfan Khan in March 2018 confirmed that he is suffering from Neuroendocrine Tumour. Unlike the name suggests, the tumour affects abnormal tissue growth arises in the hormone producing nervous cells. It starts from lungs, pancreas or anywhere in the rest of the body. After development, the tumour may spread to other body parts. He was shifted to London for the treatment. The actor opted out of many projects due to his medical condition. He keeps his fan updated on his treatment through social media.
Manisha Koirala
Actress Manisha Koirala was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2012 and went to USA for her treatment. Now after 6 years, she is fit and fine and has already returned to work. The actress was seen in ‘Sanju’ playing the role of Nargis Dutt. Manisha has written a memoir ‘Healed: How Cancer Gave Me a New Life’ in which she described how her poor lifestyle led to her medical condition. She added that that she is thankful because cancer opened her eyes and gave a new perspective towards life. She discussed her journey extensively with the media.
