U.S. based fiction author, Patricia M. Muhammad has published a historical romance novel, Ardor's Prestige.
Ardor's Prestige is one of five historical romance novels Patricia has written. Set during 18th century Venice, Anastasia steals away from her highly regarded house in the middle of the night. Thinking that she is alone, she meanders for a while until confronted by a handsome stranger, a courtier. Both disguise their identities until they become further acquainted with one another. In the ensuing days, her family leaves for vacation and her, alone except for the servants. As Leandro pursues a courtship with her, Anastasia emphasizes to her cavalier servante, Giorgio, that whatever he feels for her could never be, nor does she requite his affection. She encounters a French painter with the fleeting thought that she too would become an artist. Giorgio is framed for treason against the city state Italia. Anastasia endeavored for many years to keep him at bay but can only sympathize for his flight. There are those other than Giorgio who seek for Anastasia and Leandro's relationship to fail. Crime, connivance, and envy. Anastasia and Leandro can only hope that they will be wed. Will they?
