WHAT:
Pembroke Taparelli Arts and Film Festival searches for the road to peace, and ways to create and bring forth unity in the arts and on this planet in this time of unrest.
When we started our festival in 2016, we screened over 40 films, and have screened approximately 30 to 45 films each year since then. We would love our global audience to experience a few of the films we have screened over the past 4 years that expand on this theme of peace and unity.
Tickets are available at www.ptaff.org . The ticket price for the All-Access Pass (for all 3 days) is $30. The ticket price for the Individual Day-Pass (access to one day of activities) is $15. The opening night film will be No Destination Home.
The film tells the stories of people who have fled and whose path lead them to a emergency accommodation of a small community in Münsterland in 2015. It’ll take several months until they’ll be able to finally start a new life in Germany. Without the use of a commentary, the film shows all the spontaneous moments, the motives of escape, the difficulties and moments of happiness, attachment to one’s homeland, Fears, despair and acceptance of destiny, encounters, impatience and gratitude, giving the people who came to us an authentic voice.
The Pembroke Taparelli Arts and Film Festival will give guests the opportunity to listen in on five (5) live panel discussions as well as a virtual open mic presentation, with networking mixers on Friday and Sunday.
Adding to the positive atmosphere, DJ Poison Ivory (New York) and DJ Gimel Hooper (Los Angeles) will lend their talents to help an international audience get on their feet and dance!
Lastly, a Self-care Hub will be open to all who are interested in new/improved methods of self-care, healing, and mental health care during the time of COVID-19 and beyond.
