Pressbox (Press Release) - London, November 2, 2021.

The Managing Director of Quartz Inn Hotels, Ignacio Merino and his team, presented this Monday at the WTM London the first European hotel chain made up of independent and sustainable hotels, owned and operated by their owners.

Ignacio, in addition to his extensive hotel industry experience in managerial positions in chains such as Barcelo Hotels & Resorts, IHG, Best Western Hotels and Bahia Principe Hotels & Resorts, has also worked at OTAs and travel startups.

The Quartz Inn Hotels concept is specialized in facilitating access to the latest hotel technology for those independent hotels that do not have sufficient means to compete with the large hotel chains. They formalize the standards of service, safety, hygiene and sustainability, while preserving the authentic character of each establishment.

The hotels are operated by their owners under the Quartz Inn Hotels brand.

According to Ignacio: "The expansion plans of our company are to end 2022 with over 100 affiliated hotels throughout Europe. We want to promote direct sales for our hotels and contribute to creating a more sustainable tourism industry, maintaining the local cultures, reducing energy and water use and eliminating single-use plastic in the rooms. We appeal to all those independent hoteliers who need help, new technology and would like to join our sustainable community”.

Properties, unlike other franchise models, do not have to pay any entrance or monthly fees. Quartz Inn Hotels handles all sales, marketing, online reputation and sustainability standards for a minimum percentage of the sales.
